The KinderuniWien takes place every year in July. Nearly all procedures are the same as at a university for adults, just the "students" are a lot younger, between 7 and 12 years. The website of the Kinderbüro offers a lot of interesting information.

Now the EU has got 24 official languages. Therefore it is easily understandable, how important it is to speak at least some of them. Acquiring a good command of a language takes time, but even if you know only some phrases, this can be seen as a very positive attitude towards people from other countries, esp. in business contacts. In March 2000 the European Council set the goal that Europe should become "the most competitive and knowledge-based in the world, capable of sustaniable economic growth with more and better jobs and greater social cohesion."
